The Temptations Review featuring Dennis Edwards
Dennis Edwards is a talented musician and one of the most gifted singers
of our time. He began singing at the age of two at his father, Rev.
Dennis Edwards Sr's., church. By 1961 he had formed his own group, Dennis
Edwards and the Fireballs. Later, in 1966, he joined the Contours.
Edwards' career with the Temptations began in 1966, and so did a long
line of hits for the group. Utilizing his unique style and smooth delivery,
he became known as one of the most influential singers in the history
of Pop music.
Edwards has fourteen Gold Albums, five Grammy's, and seven nominations
for the award. In 1989 he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall
of Fame. Dennis Edwards' music has traveled with many generations, selling
well over 100 million recordings.
Edwards was part of the Temptations years as a very young artist with
a big future. Now he is thoroughly well-rounded in his vocal artistry
and stage talents as a solo performer.
In late 1997, Dennis signed an exclusive recording agreement with Babylon
records, the label founded by legendary producer, songwriter and executive
Dennis Lambert. This reunites Edwards with the producer and principal
songwriter responsible for his two Motown solo albums including, "Don't
Look Any Further."
